In the 30's and 40's many blues artists played the blues at the greyhound bus stations or railway stations, but on Friday & Saturday evenings they played for the white (irish-born) audience at dances, weddings etc. Folk music originated mostly by irish people. The best example were the Mississippi Sheiks, who mixed blues songs with folk. So therefore this CD mixes both styles to a unique artwork! The sound quality is great and you will listen and dance all night long! The artists on this CD are well-known in Austria! Zappa (not related to Frank Zappa) has been the bandleader of the Band Bluespumpm for 30 years and the WILD IRISH LASSES play & sing folk and Blues songs since 20 years and played different instruments (banjo, mandolin, guitar and violin).
