Whether you collect Kentucky Fried Chicken memorabilia or vintage advertising fans, here's something that you'll love. It's a folding cardboard hand fan advertising "The Harland Sanders Court & Cafe" in Corbin, Kentucky. This was the roadside restaurant and motel which Colonel Sanders owned before he launched Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1954, so this fan was made in 1953 or before. The front of the fan pictures a cottage in the woods. The left and right side panels pull out to increase the width of the fan. This "mechanical" fan operates as it should. Someone used a black marker on the back of the fan to cover the words "COURT & CAFE" but they're still readable. Otherwise, the fan is in G/VG shape. The back of the fan has some light surface dirt on it and is slightly yellowed from age. One of the few collectibles from Col. Sanders in his pre-Kentucky Fried Chicken days. Thanks for looking!
