Vintage handmade brass sailboat by De Mott on marble stone onyx base nautical 1970s metal signed artwork boat. A wonderful example of 1970s handmade arts and craft Brutalist inspired home decor. In very good vintage condition with acid treated edging.
John DeMott is a self-taught artist who began welding nautical themed sculptures and selling at crafts shows in California. He brought on his younger brother and the business expanded to sell to deparment stores like Macys and JC Penney. He then sold the metal business to his brother Don and began painting Old West themed work, which he still does today. His brother Don is still a metal sculptor living in Colorado.
Measures 10" tall, stands 6" at its widest.
