For more than 140 years, Vaillant has stood for innovation in hot water, heating and cooling. As a coppersmith and pumpmaker Johann Vaillant opened a master workshop in 1874 for installation work in Remscheid. Only 20 years later, he developed a pioneering innovation and on July 21, 1894, obtained the patent for the gas bath oven with a "closed system".
