The Song of Bernadette (1943) is a biographical drama directed by Henry King and starring Jennifer Jones, Charles Bickford and Vincent Price. The film portrays the story of Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year-old girl from Lourdes, France, who experiences visions of the Virgin Mary in 1858. Despite skepticism and opposition from authorities and church officials, Bernadette's unwavering faith leads to the recognition of her visions and the establishment of Lourdes as a site of pilgrimage. The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Jones, and was nominated for eight others.
