Unlike the biblical Lamentations of Jeremiah, Gervasoni's work draws from José Ángel Valente's modern prose poem cycle Tres lecciones de tinieblas, blending Christian and Kabbalistic Jewish imagery. Written during the COVID-19 pandemic, DE TINIEBLAS uses layered vocal textures and electronics to explore darkness as a transformative, revelatory space, challenging perceptions of it as merely negative, instead emphasizing it's potential for new understanding and growth.
