Set of 6 vintage Kelson Reg Brand knives in original green and cream box with ornate “Kelson Brand Celebrated Stainless Cutlery” label.
Knives are 9 1/2" L with yellow/orange colored handles. Blades are stamped: Robert Kelley & Sons Ltd. 45/47 Ranelagh St Liverpool and Firth's Stainless.
An early household stainless cutlery set from Britain circa 1920s–1930s. Firth’s Stainless Steel was an early high-quality stainless steel produced in Sheffield (Harry Brearley of Firth Brown is credited with inventing stainless steel in 1913). Advertising “Firth’s Stainless” was common in the 1920s–1930s, before “stainless steel” became generic and widely known.
Knives show wear and surface marks consistent with age. Original box has moderate wear and significant staining, and there is a handwritten notation on the end flap (ink).
Will be shipped in a sturdy box with care.
