While your General XP 1000 came equipped with what the manufacturer might refer to as a “skid plate”, it’s really nothing more than a very thin piece of plastic that offers minimum protection for your fuel tank, battery, parts of your transmission, and (if you’re lucky) a small portion of the front and rear differentials.

The 1/2” thick UHMW features impressive resistance to denting, gouging, and rusting caused by blunt edge impacts or sliding over obstacles.

A typical OEM plate’s material has a tensile strength of roughly 4500 PSI, while Seizmik’s UHMW material has a tensile strength of 7010 PSI. And Seizmik’s plates are 4x thicker than the average OEM plate.

Our kits also include side panels to serve as tree kickers and rock sliders, offering protection to your vehicle’s rocker panels.

Easy to handle sections piece together to cover the entire undercarriage of the vehicle, including the front and rear differentials. The corrosion resistant mounting hardware is recessed below the plate’s surface, protecting the fasteners from damage.

Installation is made easier with less drilling required thanks to the use of existing OEM mounting points and glass filled nylon frame clamps with brass inserts (used where possible).

Maintenance access points make routine servicing easier—no need to drop the plate to change out fluids.

Like to spend some time in the mud? Not a problem! Our plates come with more drain holes strategically placed for quicker clean up. There is no need to drop the plate in order to clean the bottom of your UTV.
