Up for sale is a Rare Chinese Fujian Huian Hualan Stone Shadow Sculpture "Jesus The Good Shepherd".
Stone shadow sculpture is a unique carving technique, a form of Chinese folk art for creating images on the surface of stones by chiseling dots onto marble slabs (see the 2nd picture). On an A4-paper-size slate of black hematite, one needs to painstakingly chisel about 100 million dots to create an image. It typically takes several weeks to create a single picture.
This is an extremely rare to find item. Well preserved in the original box. No damage. The size is 30cm x 22cm x 1cm. It was produced in the 1980s - 1990s.
