rare antique large french mortar and pestle AF rusty
rare piece of history it is a pretty good size. Most are much smaller. It’s 6 inches tall and from the top across is 7 inches wide and the base is 6 inches wide as well. It does have its original antique castle, which is also rare they usually get separated . You can tell it’s French from the shape and also the design it had a beautiful rib design and towards the bottom, it looks like it was meant to be roses or flowers
closer look it looks like it was supposed to be ivy twisted in circles so yeah definitely French
Due to age, they just look like little blobs lol still gorgeous peace of history. This is how I found the item so I believe it’s cast iron and a good chunk of it was taken out of the top rusty really on the bottom.
I think it was used in the garden. It’s super heavy.
