Exhaust Gas Temperature is a critical indicator of the performance of a typical racing engine. Supercharged and turbocharged engines use EGT sensors rather than air/fuel sensors due to the volume of fuel being passed through the engine. Racepak's Stinger series of thermocouples are designed for use in gasoline and methanol-burning engines. These probes feature a quick reacting hyper tip, to ensure the quickest response time possible.

In 2000, Racepak began the initial design of their first GPS based data system. In 2001 this system soon found its way to various forms of professional motorsports, such as circle track, road racing and offshore power boats. In 2003, the initial G2X design was conceived. A slow and deliberate development program was initiated, accumulating in the current G2X data system.
