Qing Dynasty 'Qilin' Sterling Necklace

Up for Sale is an Antique Art Deco Sterling Silver Qing Dynasty Repousse Necklace.This necklace depicts a Boy Riding a ‘Qilin’ (a mythical creature with the head of a dragon, antlers of a deer, the skin and scales of a fish, the hooves of an ox and tail of a lion).
Necklace is a double sided repousse with 2 gourds hanging on a chain on both sides of the necklace. There are 3 chained hanging charms on the Qilin’s hooves. One looks like a gourd and 2 look like bells.

During the Art Deco period, This piece is very rare and is one of the few which was left of the Chinese Export Art Deco jewelries. Pendant measures 4” x 4.5” including the charms. The two hanging gourds on both sides measure 4”. There is no closure and wearable length is 24”. Necklace weighs 118 grams. Unmarked and chain is tested to be Sterling Silver, Pendant is 800 Silver which is common to Chinese Antique Silver. Necklace shows a lovely patina and will leave the polishing to the New Owner. In very good condition.
