About:
St. Paul native Peter Zelle, known for his colorful Shard Series of bowls, vases and glassware, is currently focused on the architectural potential of glass, creating custom pieces for individuals and organizations.
The artist’s unique style encompasses both intensely-colored geometric cast tiles, arranged in multiple within metal structures, and more loose, organic works that echo the forms and palette of water and rock.
Peter is a graduate of The Rhode Island School of Design. Over the course of his more than 20 year career, he studied at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine, taught at the Pilchuk Glass School in Washington and served as apprentice to noted glass sculptor Howard Ben Tre.
