Ambient folk singer marucoporoporo, who began her career in 2018 and resides in Aichi Prefecture, released her latest work 'Conceive the Sea' in May 2024. This highly anticipated album will now be available on vinyl. From VINYL BUG:The album's theme is 'the cycle of life. ' It evokes the sensation of sinking deep into the ocean, yet being surrounded by gentle bubbles of kindness rising from the seabed. This grand epic of drone and ambient folk has been hailed as a masterpiece. Some magazines have even compared it to the great works of Brian Eno and Ryuichi Sakamoto. It appeals to fans of drone and ambient music, such as those by Grouper and Andrew Chalk, as well as acid and loner folk enthusiasts. This 2024 release is now set for an eagerly awaited vinyl record release. The vinyl version, like the CD and digital release, features original designs by Mugi Hashimoto, inspired by the theme of 'the cycle of life. ' We hope listeners will discover new aspects of this work through the physical medium. Album Information:Since her debut in 2018 and following several years of silence, marucoporoporo has released her first album, 'Conceive the Sea. ' She handled the songwriting, recording, and mixing herself. In 2022, she created music for an exhibition by painter/filmmaker Takinao, which inspired her to complete this album. The work focuses on the primordial cycle of life, exploring ideas around seawater, the source of life, and amniotic fluid, which nurtures the fetus. It is an introspective reflection on her existence. The delicate, electronically adorned soundscapes are warm, like the glow of a candle seen through closed eyelids, and they gently waver as if floating in water. Profile:A musician based in Aichi Prefecture, marucoporoporo began composing music after receiving an acoustic guitar from her brother. Influenced by the then-popular bedroom music, noise, and South American music, she took on the tasks of recording, sound processing, and mixing by herself. Her live performances feature piano and alternatively tuned acoustic guitars, creating a sound experience that envelops the audience in thin, drifting layers of sound. In 2018, she released her first EP, 'In her dream,' and a cassette titled 'Ruin,' which was field-recorded in an abandoned village in Chichibu.
