Prehistory: The story of Liktjern actually begins in the summer of 1995, when Knokkelmann and Kverke started making music on rather modest guitar equipment at the time. In 1996 the first drummer was found in Christian, who unfortunately ended his life in 1998. A new drummer was found and in a local rock shed the band propped three times a week... until 1999. On May 15, 1999 Knokkelmann and Alex had a serious car accident. While Alex recovered quickly Knokkelmann had to fight with severe after-effects. Among them was a paralysis of the right side of his body. But giving up was out of the question, as well as quitting. Nevertheless, the band members lost track of each other between the years 2000 and 2007. Shortly after that singer Gud joined the band and the line up was complete. Liktjern In the summer of 2007 Knokkelmann bought his own house with the perfect base for his own studio and rehearsal room. In early 2008 he met up with Kverke to start making music again in earnest. Ond joined as drummer and Liktjern were born. And it could hardly go better. After the first EP "Kulde, pest & død" (2009) the band signed a five-year contract with the Italian label earthbear Productions. Ond left the band in 2012 and Kverke in 2014, but Kleven joined in the same year as a new member to record the guitars. He also brought Nord to Liktjern, who picked up the bass. Nevertheless, Kleven decided to leave the band again in 2020 to devote himself to his own band Hofmod, while Kverke returned. By the beginning of 2020, enough was enough for Knokkelmann. After all the crew changes and all the other things that made life difficult for the band, the time finally came to finish something new. The band went to Nyhagen Studio and recorded the debut album. "I Ruiner" was created and shows that since the midnineties another pearl has been lying dormant in Norwegian black metal, which finally comes to the public.
