This large rooster or chicken sculpture was a fantastic find. He/she was hand carved of wood and finished with a gesso coating and then hand painted. Over time the paint has faded and the gesso has been exposed in places, giving the statue a distressed appearance. Also, the crest has a chip (see last photo). The figure stands 16 in. high, 13 in. long, and 7 in. wide. Make this fowl the centerpiece of your farmhouse kitchen, or use it as a doorstop!
