This listing is for an antique Chinese minyao saucer or small plate / dish. It dates to around the Late Ming Dynasty. It has a diameter of about 6 inches. The glaze appears to be is a very light celadon. The bat or birds on the dish appear to be dark blue to nearly black in tone.
The saucer was owned by an elderly Korean man with a keen interest in pottery, and currently (2025) living in the United States. He had made several studio pottery pieces himself. He had a collection of antique Chinese, Korean, and Japanese pieces dating back as far as the Song Dynasty. He may have held the pieces for study.
The saucer is in good condition overall for its age. It has a ring of mineral buildup on the top. I was able to clean up quite a bit but there is still some remaining. There are no chips or cracks that I could find. Please see photos.
