Masterpiece
Some fragrances scream "opulence" and Jubilation XXV Man is one of them in my opinion. It has a complexity that is not immediately easy to unpack, but it is worth the effort.
From the very start I get sweet, realistic backberry, mixed with something warm, which I assume is olibanum and/or labdanum (amber accord). There's also a vague smoky element there too, which adds to the warmth of it. It all comes together to give it a self confident, self assured air.
As it evolves on my skin, after about twenty minutes, prickly spices become more evident, but as fast as they appear, they are mellowed out by a delicious honey note that has taken over from blackberry. These middle stages are as complex and interesting as the opening and keep drawing my nose back in.
From here, this warm honey, slighly smoky, slightly spicy vibe continues for hours. I can pick out faint cinnamon, and hints of bay leaf and clove.
