This telescoping solar Megatowerâ„¢ from Larson Electronicsâ„¢ is designed to allow operators to quickly and safely deploy lighting, cameras, and other electrical equipment in locations where this equipment must be elevated to heights up to 50 feet for effective coverage. This 6-stage, aluminum light boom can be extended to 50 feet for maximum area coverage and collapsed to 13 feet for applications where a footprint smaller is required. The tower is constructed of square aluminum tubing. The mast is extended to its full height using an electric winch with steel cable. The winch is available in either a 120 V or 240 V, 60 Hz configuration. Please make your selection below when ordering.
The SPLT-0.12K-LM50.6S-EW-240AL-TLR16-BCC-M2 is equipped with two, 60-watt solar panels for harvesting sunlight and a 20-amp solar charge controller. Power storage is facilitated by a 12 V, 240 aH lithium iron phosphate battery. When sunlight is insufficient, operators may replenish the battery using a 110/220 V battery charger with a 5-10P plug and 220V 2-pin Shuko adapter. A 10-amp transformer is available, which steps up 12 V to 24 V and allows operators to power 24 V equipment. All system components are housed in a fan cooled, ventilated NEMA 3R enclosure. The solar light mast is capable of operating 24 V devices up to 60 watts.

This solar light tower comes with 85' of nycoil coiled cable for powering mounted equipment at the top of the mast from the NEMA 3R control box at the base. The top of the mast (center of the mast head) contains a 4" x 4" NEMA 3R junction box, which can be used to complete power connections between the coiled cable and equipment. The cable is protected by a wire mesh cable holder at the top of the mast to prevent binding when lowered. Cable catchers can be found at the top of the bottom stage, as well as at each additional stage to guide the cable when extending the tower.

The LM series of towers are powder coated with glossy blue finish for corrosion resistances and aesthetics. These light masts are typically mounted to trailers or other stable surfaces via an 18" x 18", 3/8" thick mounting base-plate which has been drilled to accept six 1/2 inch anchor bolts.
Equipment Mounting: A 36" wide and 1/8" thick mounting T head is attached to the upper section of the mast which provides a strong and stable platform for fixtures. The underside of the T-head is equipped with a pair of 5" x 5" mounting plates that each accept a PTZ pendant mount for a total of (2) PTZ pendant mounts. There is a hole in the bottom of the T-head that allows the operator to run camera wiring inside the T-head.
*Please note: NO camera mounts are included. There are ONLY mounting provisions for customer provided camera mounts.*
The LM family of telescoping Megatower™ a proprietary mast guidance system, which provide increased stability during high winds. When lowered to 13 feet, the mast can withstand winds up to 125 mph. When elevated to its full upright position, the mast can be rotated a full 360°, regardless of the extended height of the mast. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the mast with easy in either direction. The mast can be positioned in one of four different directions, and locked back in place by re-tightening the T-handle. The mast itself spins freely with easy, and can typically be rotated with a single hand.
A total of four, 30" retractable outriggers with 1,000 lb support jacks and flat feet are available on this unit. During deployment, the outriggers create a wider footprint for the base of the trailer and aids leveling for stable operation. The outriggers also ensure stability, when exposed to high wind loads in order to prevent the tower from tipping over.
This light tower weighs approximately 1300 lb, can easily support and lift 150 lb of fixtures and/or equipment. The entire tower assembly is shipped via common freight carrier and when shipped measures approximately 16.5 feet long, 4 feet wide, 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 2000 lb. Larson Electronics can custom tailor these units to the customer's requirements with longer sections and larger mounting plates.
Suggested Applications: Temporary lighting, construction sites, and security camera deployment. We can equip this mast with 1000W or 1500W Metal Halide lights or a wide variety of high powered LED lights with comparable power, including the , , or .
