| Made in the USA The SPLEDL-2X-LEDLP-300-KNL-20C from Larson Electronics is a Solar Powered LED Light that is an ideal lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. This 30-watt solar powered LED light is offered in a floodlight beam pattern and several different operating configurations, making it ideal for remote applications and replacing 100W-120W metal halide lamps. A 1/2" knuckle mount allows the LED lamp to be secured at a separate location from the panel. This solar LED light is powered by two, 40aH lithium-ion batteries that are recharged by two, 60-watt solar panels. Light output comes from a 30-watt LED lamp that produces 3,000 lumens of bright light. The long lasting LEDs have a 50,000-hour rated lifespan with a CRI of 70 and color temperature of 5,000K. The flood beam is NEMA 7Hx7V, a very wide spread ideal for general or accent lighting. This LED light is designed to replace 100W-120W metal halide fixtures. Durability: This LED flood light is IP66 rated with housing constructed of rugged aluminum that is coated with a UV resistant powder, available in dark bronze, for additional corrosion protection. The fixture is wet location listed and suitable for outdoor use where potential exposure to ultraviolet light, moisture or full water immersion exists. The unit operates in extreme temperatures from -40ºC to 45ºC and includes an unbreakable polycarbonate lens that protects the LEDs against buildup or intrusion of dust, dirt and humidity. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units contain advanced drivers which use pulse width modulation to control heat buildup rather than simple voltage regulators which are typically harsh on sensitive electronics and can contribute to early LED failure. These units automatically sense the temperature of each LED and adjust the energy frequency or "duty cycle" accordingly to maintain heat levels within acceptable ranges. This system in essence flashes current at an extremely fast on and off rate to each LED based upon the LED`s core temperature. This flash rate is too fast to detect with the human eye, but provides precise control of the current flowing to each LED and thus the heat it generates. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 100% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The LEDs are always driven at the same voltage but the duty cycle, however, is changed to alter how long the LEDs are actually on or off. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours. | |||||||||

Solar Panels: The two, 60-watt solar panels are configured to operate non-stop 24/7, day/night with photocell, motion sensor for security purposes, on/off switch for manual operation, or flying leads for operators to connect to user provided external switches. The day/night and motion sensor is programmed to activate the solar panel in the evening and to shut it off during the day, activating the LED light when ambient lighting falls below 1 lux. The motion sensor will activate the panel upon detecting movement within range of the panel.
The light runs for 12 hours when the battery is fully charged. The lithium-ion battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. Charging time for the battery is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. The included 10` SOOW cord with Deutsch 2-pin disconnect that runs between the solar panel and the light offers operators convenience and flexibility during the mounting process.
