' Product Overview '
Made in the USA The Larson Electronics HML-5M is a high powered 10 million candle power military spotlight that operates on 24V. This portable spotlight is equipped with a 100 pound grip magnetic, 7" powder coated handle, and solid polypropylene reverse pistol grip handle. A tension hinge enables the lamp housing to tilt 140° up and down, 360° rotation, and keep the position once released. This hand operated magnetic spotlight is effective for semi-permanent mounting and handheld use when high powered illumination is required. The 100 pound grip magnetic base holds the light in place on protective barriers, vehicle panels, and gun turrets on the military HUMVEE, even under the most aggressive road and off-road conditions. Hunters may use this light while mounted to the top of the vehicle. When spotting, they can move the light quickly to follow the movement of the animal. Once the animal is identified, the tension hinge will semi lock in the light and operators can move in on foot. The military uses this base in a similar fashion, scanning th peripheral for assailants, roadside bombs, etc. However, once the convoy is stopped and the shooting begins, the rotation and tilt angles are semi locked in, reducing the light from straying away from its target during vehicle or artillery related vibration that can alter the angle of the lighting.

This 24 volt magnetic mount military spotlight configuration is unique to Larson Electronics LLC and the Larson Electronics range of industrial grade spotlights and flood lights. This "reverse pistol grip" frame includes a steel bracket system that maintains beam position after placement. Combined with a 6" lamp and 3.25" 100lb magnetic base, this light configuration is counterbalanced for easy handheld use. More importantly, users can easily move from handheld use to vehicle or equipment mounting, since the handle system does not preclude simultaneous use of the magnetic mounting base. The magnetic spotlight is ideal for semi-permanent mounting on ferrous metal surfaces. The light head is constructed of injection molded ABS plastic and fitted with a impact and shatter resistant polycarbonate lens. The sand, UV, and weather resistant spotlight housing effectively dissipates heat while providing weather protection for the toggle switch, internal H3 lamp, and fixture wiring harness. The unique design of the spotlight housing enables continuous use in the most inclement weather conditions without risk of corrosion or damage. The HML-5M has a 21 foot straight cord with 3/8" ring terminals for direct battery connection and inline quick disconnect. The cord connects to the light fixture via weatherproof 2-pin molded SAE connector. A simple on/off toggle switch is conveniently located at the back side of the light head and within reach of the solid polypropylene handle. Note On Voltage: Most vehicles are 12 Volts DC. 24 Volts DOES NOT mean more power. Running a 24V light from a 12V power source will result in a very dim or non-functioning light, and may cause internal damage to the light as well. For common vehicle use, please order 12V.
